LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held yesterday. Messrs Maitland (chief commissioner), Duncan, Green, and Clark were present. PAPAKAIO. ! J. Warwood's application for a lease of section 118, Block 111, Papakaio, for grazing purposes, at 10s per acre was declined. I . BOAD LINES. The plans of road lines on which the Vincent County proposed to expend £20418s Bd, and on I which the Knapdalo Road Board intend expending £23 18s lid deferred-payment moneys, were approved of. OTAKIA. Ranger Valpy, reporting on the application made by P. Leitch to have a portion of land in block V, Otakia, reserved as a cemetery site, stated that the chairman of the road board did not approve of the proposal.—The boai d therefore declined to recommend that the land be reserved. PERPETUAL LEASES* The surrender of the following perpetual leases was accepted:—L. Murray, sections 5 and 6, block VIII, Mount Hyde; J. Black, section 9, block VI, Waikouaiti. WENDON. W. Stewart applied to have the upset renta of perpetual lease section 15, block VII, Wen don, reduced from 21s to 20s per acre.—Agree • to. AKATOHE. An application by T. Brooks, on behalf of B. Hcaly, to purchase 30 acres of land in block I, Akatore,was declined. LAUDEH. Mr Connell appeared for A. Brown, and asked the board to reduce the upset price of perpetual lease section 14, block V, Lauder, to Is per acre. Application declined in the meantune. SUTTOff. An offer by G. J. Grant to lease section 5, block XIII, Sutton, at half the original rent of 5s per acre, as the land is inferior, was declined. CHATTON, The capital value of peraetual lease section .45, block XIV, Chatton, was fixed at 50s per acre. CLUTHA. The Balclutha Borough Council applied for permission to occupy the land between the Clutha River and the street line alongside blocks XXI, XXII, and XXIII, for tree-planting purI poses.—The board resolved not to offer any objection. GIJIMERBURN. E. Kearney applied to purchase on doferredpaymonts section 18,, block IV, Gimmerburn.— License to issue, subject to reduction of five acres for gravel reserve. HUN 51. Mr Connell, for R. Colton, lessee of Run 51, Waipori district, asked the board to consider the assessment and rental of the run.—Referred to the Government for favourable consideration. MANIOTOTO. The v tender of J. G. Pearce was accepted for perpetual lease of section 4, block XIV, Maniototo, 308 acres, at 2s 7d per acre ; and that of J B. Coram, for section 11, block XIV, Maniototo, 320 acres, at 2s 3d per acre (upset, Is 9d). The application of C. M'llroy for section 12, block XIV, in the same district, was declared informal, as his signature was not attached to the declaration.
