The bank rate of discount remains at 3s, and tha market rate at 2£ per cent. The Bank of England weekly returns show a total reserve of notes and bullion of £16,200,000, a reduction of £300,000 during the past week. The proportion of the reserve to liabilities has risen to 47 per cent. New Zealand securities remain at last quotations. Colonial breadstuffs—Adelaide wheat (ex store) has advanced by Is, and is now at 37s per 4961b. Adelaide flour (ex store) has improved by Cd, and is now at 2Gs per 2801b. Tallow—Australian average quality remains at 31s 6d for beef and 333 for mutton.

Wool.—At today's auction a firmer tone prevailed. Ten thousand four hundred bales have been offered since the opening of the series, and 22,000 bales have been withdrawn from eale, out of a total of 169,800 catalogued. Caledonien, from Melbourne (Feb. ruary 28), were dolivered to-day via Marseilles, Arrived: Ada Melmoro, from Port Chalmers ; Glonmore, from Wellington; Euterpe, from Napier. April 10.
