ANOTHER AMERICAN ADVERTISING SWINDLE.

In June last the manager of this journal received an advertisement from the "Haydock Chemical Company." This was referred to our agent for the United States, and for the benefit of newspaper proprietors in the Colony who may have inserted the advertisement, we publish the following reply received from our agent :—

I. regret to be compelled to say that no greater humbug and swindle is in existence in the United btates, in the way of advertising, than this same "Haydook Chemical Co. " which is systematically swindling the Press of all countries to the extent of its power and to the utmost limit of their gullibility. By referring this advertisement to me, instead of inserting upon their promise to pay you have saved. yourself some unnecessary trouble, together with an advertising bill which you would have been compelled to place to profit and loss. Thia Haydock is the same individual who swindled Joseph Holloway of London, in various ways. His character is notorious m this country, and is in a, fair wav to become so abroad.
