MR PYKE'S BILL.
to thb editob. SlH,—Your correapondent "Right" ia all wrong, as positive people usually are. More than " ten " Otago members voted for what he calls my " denominational bill," and more than "three" who supported it have been returned. Mr Driver was not a member at the time. I never brought in a denominational bill at all. The conclusion "Right" draws from his erroneous premises is amusingly absurd. I might as woll say that because Messrs Dick, Fish, and M. W. Green, who voted agiinst my bill, have all been rejected, therefore Dunedin i 3 dissatisfied with the present system of education. But who wants to disturb tha present system ? Not I, for one. It is apparent that "Right" does not understand theprinciple of my Educational Bill; and as I have cause to fear that there are others equally ill-informed on the subject, I enclose a copy for publication at your discretion.— I am, &c, _ Vincent Pyke. Dunedin, July 26.
