SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.
GUEEN ISLAND,
The annual meeting of the householders for the election of the School Committeo was hold in the schoolhouso on Monday evening, Mr James 'Miller in the chair. The report for last year was read, and in closing it the Comniittoe acknowledged their sense of the value of tho services rendered by Mr Wills; their chairman, in the negotiations with tho Education Board in re the erection of tho new school. The balance-sheet was also read, showing a balance of £16 3$ at the end of the year. Mr Wilden moved and the Rev, M. Watt seconded—" That the report and balance-sheet be adopted as read; and also that this meeting heartily concurs in the last clause of the Committee's report, referring to the valuable services rendered by Mr Wills; and that this resolution, along with a copy of the clause referred to, be forwarded to Mr Wills."
Mr Wm. Thomson moved and Mr Wilden seconded—" That a vote of thanks be accorded to the Committee as a whole for their services during tho past year." Eight nominations were received, and the voting resulted in the election of the following gentlemen :—Rev. M. Watt, 19 ; D. Watters, 16 ;H. Harraway, 13; Wm. Irvine, 11; Wm. Wilden, 11; Tliob. Murray, 10; Jas. Miller, 0. Mr Win, Wilson, for whom four votes were recorded, was the other candidate. WAIKOUAITI. The election for this district resulted as follows :— Voto3. Votora.
