SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF TEMPERANCE.

A meeting of the Grand Division No. 10, Sons and Daughters of Temperance, was held at the Coffee Palace on Thursday, when 20 delegates v.ere present, representing No. 1 Division, Dunedin; No. 4 Division, Christchurch ; No. 5 Division, Kaiapoi: and No. 3 Division, Raßgiora. The G.W.P. (Bro. J. Caygill), in his address, expressed his satis faction at tho headway temperance affairs were making in New Zealand; but he deplored the apathy evinced by members of the body individually. A statement was read by the Grand Scribe, which showed that the financial matters of the Grand Division were in.a flourishing condition; The election of officers resulted as follows:—Bro. J. Caygill, G.W.P. (re-elected); Bro. W. Carr, W.A.; Bro. J. A. Etford, G.S: (re-elocted); Bro. H. Cresswell, G.T.; Bro. G. H. Spooner, Grand Chaplain; Bro. R. Stirling, Grand Conductor: and Bro. KH. Hitchings, G.S. The installing officer was Bro. J. A. D. Adams, P.G.W.P., who was assisted by Bro. R. Wicks, P.G.W.A. In the evening a tea-meeting'was held in the Coffee Palace to welcome the Northern representatives, and was attended by about 50 members of the Order. Mr Moss, who presided at the after meeting, stated that the receipts of the Antidote Division for the past five years had been £1248, and the expenditure £730 7s lOd. Speeches were also delivered by Messrs Caygill, J. A. D. Adams, and Cutler. .
