CARISBROOK CRICKET CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Carisbrook ..,..' Cricket ■ Club was held at Wain's Hotel on Saturday evening. The President of the Club (Mr J. P. Maitland) occupied the chair, and there were about 30 persons present.. Tho Secretary (Mr J. E. Tho Same.—Tho Cub's First Eleven have plajcd seven matches, of which foiir have been won, two drawn greatly in favour of the Club, and one lost; and the First Eleven blbo won the i hallenge cup of tbo Utago Cricket Aesociat on. A mixed First and Second tie yon liave. playtd four matches, aU of which havo been won. The Second Eleven havo played nine matches, eeven being won, ono drawn, and one lout. The Third Eleven have played 12 matches, flve being won, threo drawn, and four lost. Averages.—ln attaining these results Cub matches have been excluded. In the First.Eleven the flret places in batting averages aro taken by H. MacNeil, jun., and H. Rose, wh'j have made 283 and 197 runs lor the .Club respectively in nine and seven irinlnga. In the bow,ing averages H. MasNeil and J. E. Hume stand at the head of the list, with tho respertivo averages of 5-02 and 5C runs per wicket. In the Second Eleven A. Drabble and Geo. Jenkins stand first ia batting, and Browa and W Fitzzerald in tho howling. In tho Third Eleven W. H. Scott and C. R. Bart are first in batting, and R. Austin and £. Hardy in bowling. . • Financial.-The statement submitted shows that the Club continues in a healthy condition. It has 118 snb_:crib rs, of whom €3 seniors and 10 juniors are . players, and 45 are. honorary mcmbeia The total receipts for ths year amount to SZ23 6s sd, nnd the expenditure hai been £25812s 3d. The expenditure, thertfore, has exceeded the income of the year, which is owing to tho Club having had to pay a larger rent for the use.of the ground, and to having to provide more material and other necessary expenses, soma of which wi.l not occur this year. The Chairman, in moving the adoption of ' the report, referred to the satisfactory condition of the Club. He, howevor, did not think they could reduce their expenditure very much, and he would urge on them the necessity of increasing their income by adding to the membership roll. ■ The report was adopted, and the meeting proceeded to the election of officers for the ensuing year, with the following result:—Presidents, Messrs J. P. 'Maitland and Allan Holmes; captain, Mr E. T. Collinson; deputy-captain, Mr A. Cargill; secretary, Mr A. A. Finch ; committee, Messrs H. Rose, R. W. Brown, H. MacNeil, W. G. Dixon, and G. Robertson. Fifteen new playing members were enrolled. On the motion of Mr A. Y. Smith a vote of thanks was accorded tho retiring secretary, '"■ Mr Hume. On the suggestion of Mr CoiHKSOK, it was - resolved to present Master H..Stronach, of the ; Third Eleven, with a bat, in recognition of his having been"thß first to make a "century " on the new ground. Mr Headway proposed a vote, of thanks to Mr Maitland for the indefatigable mannor in which he had exerted himself on behalf of the Club during the past eeason,
