He gave it as his opinion that only 8000 acres at the back or west side of the runs was fit for agricultural purposes. Messrs Connell and" Moodie, on behalf of James Stark Anderson, applied for a license under the 25th section of. The.Publio Reserves Act, 1881," for the quarry reserve numbered section 115, block V, Otepopo district.—The application was referred to the Waitaki County Council to say whether it is necessary to retain the section in question.as a quarry reserve, or whether it may not be sold. Smith, applied for the decision of the Board on his application for an exchange of license for sections 19 and 21, block I, and 19, block 111, Teviot district.—As section 74 of " The Land Aj|jJLß77," only permits the original holder of anagricultural lease to obtain a deferred-pay-ment license in exchange for same, and the present applicant not being in this position, the application was declined. CAPITALISATION. On the application of Messrs Connell and -Moodie, capitalisation of deferred-payment holdings was authorised as follows: —W. '.Young, section 6, block X, Waipahi; J. A. The Secretary of the Otago Education Board wrote asking the Board to reserve 10£ acros in block I, Waitahuna West, Bouth of section 116, .'as an extension of Tuapeka school grounds.— The request was recommended for the favourable consideration of the Government. ■MANIOTOTO. .. The District Engineer transmitted a plan of sections 8 and 4, block XVI, Maniototo, and •asked that the portion of those sections between the railway-line and the river be reserved for the purpose of obtaining railway ballast. —The Board agreed to the request. MOUNT HYDE. The "Warden at Hindbn reported on the application of Daniel M'Kenzie to purchase sections 82, 34, and 34, block IV, Mount Hyde district. —It was resolved that a reserve of two chains be laid off along the east side of Blacksmith Gully, and that the section be advertised ns open for selection. —M'Kenzie's application was declined. Certificates of application were approved of as follow :—J. Stewart, section 2, block XII, Bock and Pillar; H. Graham, section 25, block VII, Shotover; Jas. Flint, section 101, block 111, Shotovor ; James Meiklejohn, sections 20 and 21, block IV, Mid-Wakatipu. -' . .PASTORAL LANDS. The Chief r Surveyor transmitted detailed maps of pastoral deferred payment land reserved from the runs sold in February, 1882.— Consideration of these maps was adjourned till Tuesday, 19th inst. BUN 137 (BELLAMY). The Under-secretary for Crown Lands forwarded a memo, on the proposals of the Board regarding this run. He mentioned that the Government agreed with the Board in withholding the run from sale on account of its auriferous nature, but asked the Board to reconsider its decision with regard to the disposal of the 3000 acres under agricultural lease, as'the Government considered the ground fit for pasturage only.—Consideration of this matter was also adjourned till the special meeting.
