Among the nominations were the Yankee horses Foxhall and Iroquois; also Petronel, Exeter, and Chippendale. Friday has run for two seasons past without winning a solitary race, and of late had been confined to jumping races. He had only 7st 111b to carry in this cup, having 141b allowance for never havhig won 200 soys, and 31b allowance as a gelding ; so that the performance is nothing wonderful^
Tristan is one of the best horses in training this season, among his successes being three good stakes at Ascot.
Geologist >yon one good race as- a two-year-old, but has since not come up to the expectations formed of him.
