Solomon Reid's store, at' Kybor Pass, was burglariously entered yesternight, and £12 worth of property stolon. Tho thieves were observod, and, being, pursued, dropped a portion of their booty and escaped. The Telephone Exchange has now 103 subscribers, and a third annunciator for the accommodation of 50 moro is boing erected. Heavy rain to-day has flooded portions of tho suburbs, and caused considerable damage.

The cutter Bessie arrived yesterday at Whangaroa, 16 days out from Auckland. Captain M'Donald "reports being blown 300 mile 3 out to sea, and the vossel was hoye-to for a week. The medical officer called attention to the increase of scarlet fever, stating that, though at present cases are not numerous, unles stringent precautions against the spread of the disease are taken, there is every probability that in a short time it will become widely epidemic.
