INCREASE OF WAGES. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —I am gkd to see that our Government are showing far more liberality towards their railway employes than our Town Council showed towards the Corporation labourers. Of course the action of our councillors will be remembered at tho next election. But perhaps it is not too late for them to make some amends. Some peoplo say that tho rise (if any) should have been given first to the working men, who it is thought were tho most in need of it. lam afraid that we have not reached the millennium yet, but that might is still able to hold its own against right. When the people become more educated, might will have to succumb to right.—l am, &c, A Labourer. July 27th.
