London, April 26th. New Zealand 4£ per cent. 1579-1904 loan is quoted at 104, being an advance of 10s. Australian breadstuffs dull at yesterday's quotations.

Australian tallow flat, and quotations are falling. Best beef, 41s; best mutton, 425. The further examination of the meat brought from Melbourne by the Garonne has proved that a large portion is in bad condition, owing to the carcasses having been packed in an unfrozen state.

The Homeward Australian mails viaßrindisi, which left Melbourne on March 18th, were delivered in London to-day. The Orient Steamship Company have declared- a dividend of 2t per cent, for the last half-year, and carried £28,000 to the reserve fund.

Intelligence is to hand that hostilities between the Austrian troops and the Bosnian insurgents have now entirely ceased, and that an amnesty has been granted to the latter by the Austrian commander. Telegrams are to hand from Pietersnaritzburg reporting the arrival there of 1000 Zulus, who have left their-country to appeal to the Governor of Natal in favour of the return of Cetewayo to Zululand.

Sydney, April 27th. A Royal Commission has been appointed to inquire into and report upon the construction of the various theatres in this city, and the provision- that has been made to prevent loss of life through fire or other panic. An offer has been made by a number of gentlemen in this city, who propose to form a company or corporation for the obstruction of a bridge across the harbour, from North Shore to Flagstaff Hill. It is probable that a bill will be introduced into the Assembly to* authorise the construction of the bridge. Melbourne, April 28th. It is denied that there were any cases of smallpox on board the P. and O. Company's steamship Carthage when she arrived at Albany. .. ■
