BURNSIDE CROSSING.
A deputation consisting of Mr G-reig (chair, man), Messrs A. Brown and M'Meikan (members of the Kaikorai Road Board), and several other gentlemen, waited upon Mr Grant (rail way traffic manage!), yesterday with regard to the railway crossirg at Burneide. It app*an> that the road through Messrs Wilson and Har raway's property has been clwed, and that the residents on one sido of the line have now no means of acce«3 to the Main South road. These f.icis were explained, and the dsputation urged upon Mr Grant the necessity that exists L r ths construction of a railway crossing at that place, <nd further pointed out that a culvert bad bee/ made and one pair of gates ereetod at the place where tho new ens-ins* ws.B r(quired, ho tsiu r.hn expense of making the crossing would be triflinf;.
Mr Gbant promised to lay tha matter at mcc befura the Divrte- B >?ineer.
