i At a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Diocese held lately it - was "announced that the sum of LSQO promised by the S. P.G K. towards the endowment of country cares had oeen paid over to the Diocesan Trustees, and the total of this fund now reaohed L3IOO. A sub-committee was appointed to take further steps to augment the several funds, with power to , add to their number. Several instances were brought to light in the course of the disvi cnssion, showing the impecunious position of some of the parishes; and the contributions tpwartls thelGeneral-Clargy- Maintenance J?ucd for the past half-year have, it seems, only been sufficient to pay a dividends of 63 8d in the pound on the customary grants to parochial clergymen. The atnunnt required is Ll9O, and only, about .1.69 - has; been ; received. This .is partly owing to one:of the quarterly offerings having.been made^ on a.wet Sunday, and partly to the"absence of dividends on funds invested in the Permanent Building Spiiety..,:

Tbe sixth anniversary of Court St. Andrew, No. 6127, A.0.F., was celebrated by a concert and ball in the public hall at Caversham on Friday. C.R. Jackson occupied the chair, and about 90 pertions were present. A somewhat lengthy programme was gone through, td the evident satisfaction of the audience, several of the numbers being encored. The Industrial School Band also played a number of selections. Lack's Band furnished the music for the dance.
