M'lntyre have been appointed trustees of the Pukerau Cemetery. Mr Wm. Isaac has been appointed member of the Managing Committee of the Dunedin Hospital. Sergeant-major Moore has been appointed inspector of weights and measures for the Tuapeka district, vice J. O'Connor resigned. Dr J. H. Mackenzie has been appointed public vaccinator for the district of Waikouaiti Mr Donald M'Leod, Mayor of Marton, has been appointed a Justice of the Peace. The following alterations in railway rates are gazetted :—Part IV.—Local Rates. Amberley-Blufr and Napier Sections. Class M.— Sheep, pig's, goats, and calves.—Where sheep, pigs, goats, and calves are carried on the Amborley-Blulf and Napier sections 111 trucks having one floor only, the following reductions will be made on the classified rates, viz.: For distances of not more than 20 miles, 2s (id per truck ; for distances of over 20 miles and not more than 50 miles, 3s per truck; for distances of over 50 miles and not more than 100 miles, Ss Cd per truck; for all distances over 100 miles, 4s per truck. Part V.—Through Rates. Amberley-BluS Section. Class P.—A charge of Is per ton in addition to the classified rates will be made on all goods of Class P consigned from Port Chalmers and stations south thereof to stations on the Waimea Plains railway. The Money Order and Savings Bank office at Dunedin will be closed on Saturdays at 2 p.m., instead of 5 p m., as at present; also, that they will be reopened from 6.30 till 8.30 every Saturday evening, for the receipt of Savings Bank deposits and the opening of new Savings Bank accounts only. The Lodge Otago, No. 107, of the United Ancient Order of Druids Society, situated at Dunedin, is registered as a friendly society, under "The Friendly Societies Act, 1877."
