Wellington, 17th January. The Gazette to night declares the following blocka of native land to be waste lands of the Crown :—Te Onekura, Kaipara, 323 acrea; Kaipati, Kaipara, 3454 acre?. A proclamation defines the North Taieri portion of the Otago Central Railway. The first meeting of Governors of the Timaru High School ia fixed for the 27th instant, at 11 o'clock.

The Kowai Domain Board is to meet on sth February at the chairman's office. The Linwold Recreation Reserve is brought under the Public Domains Act, and the powers delegated to W. C. Walker, E. G. Wright, Jos. Beswick, J. Carter, and J. Grigg, as board of management. Notice is given of money being paid on aud negotiations going on for the purchase of the following blocks of Native land :—Waihi, Noa. 1, 2, 3, 4, aud 5 ; Hauraki District, Paruakua, No. 1; Te Kohui, Otaki District; Opatu, Mangatawbero, Te Reiki, Puketotara, Wanganui Diatrict. The powera under the Mines Act are dele gated to the County Council oi Wallace. Section 151, Finaertown, Auckland, ia reserved for a cemetery; and sections 623 and 624, borough of Napier, for school site 3. A number of former temporary reserves are made permanent. Louis Ehrenfried, of the Thames, and Edward Parson, Te Awamutu, are gazetted J.P.'s. The resignations of Captain M'Donald and Sub-Lieutenant Cameron, Thames Scottish, are accepted. Mr H. W. Robinson is appointed a member of the Mount Ida Water Race Trust; Mr R. Oliver, M.H.R., and the Hon. W. H. Reynolda members of tbo Otago High School Board ; C. P. Cox and J. E. Trevor Governors of the Ashburton High School; Hon. J. Miller and Mr S. E. Shrimski Governors of Oamaru High School. The following auditors of School Commissioners' aud Education Board accounts are gazetted:—Auckland, Louis AdolphuaDurrier; Taranaki, Robeit M'Abater ; Hawke's Bay, Robert M'Aliater ; Wellington, Robert M'Alister ; Marlborough, Robert M'Aliater; Nelson, Robert Pollock ; Westland, Edward Patten ; Canterbury, N. andS., John Ollivier; Otago, Henry Livingston; John Oilivier, auditor Canterbury! College; Henry Livingston, auditor Otago University ; L. A. Durrier, auditor for Auckland College and Grammar School; Henry Livingston, auditor for Dunedin High Schools and Southland High School.

The Melbourne regulatioias as to Customs drawback, and several notices to mariners, are also published. G. Sanderson is appointed surveyor, and A. R. Forbes draughtsman, in Surveyor-General's office.
