CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.

The regular meeting of the Caversham Road Board was held in the Schoolhouse on Thursday evening. Pressent—Mr Rutherford (in the chair), Messrs U'Ren, Wilson, Langmuir, and Bridgman. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed.

The Chairman reported that he had sent to tho Treasury Department, Wellington, as requested, a return of rates collected in South Duuedin to 31st March, 187G.

The members of the Board attending the Municipal Conference were authorised to complete arrangements with Mr Proudfoot for lay* ing down and running tramways in the district. It was agreed to call for tenders for forming and covering with rotten rock the upper portion of Sydney Btreot, and for about 40 yards of blue metal for the lower part. The Inspector was instructed to have the water now crossing Corstorphiue Road by culvert conducted into the new drain on tho Main South Road, and to prepare plans and specifications for metalling and forming footpaths along David and Smith streets, Calderville-, and for the formation of Marian and John streets, St. Andrew's Extension and Calderville, and to call for tenders by next meeting. The Board adjourned for a fortnight.
