Messrs Macmun Baotuijiw report (or tho week ending 25th January, as follows:— i'at Cattle.— \ fair supply of about JSO head came forward fur V\ c-jliie-d:iy's market, nearly all of which were of goo; 10 prime quality, Iho market opaned briskly, and fuliy last week's rates were obtained, but as the requirements of the trade were limited thp demand fell off towards the Q'ose, and about &f) head ■were turned out unsold, but litt'o better than etoro prices having beun offered, We quote prime beef at 27s «d per IOOIbs. At the Yards we sold pujy ft few pens, and privately we Jwo placed 80 head,

Fat Calves.—About 20 head were penned, which brought from 203 Od to 60s, m co ding to quality. Fat Sheep.—The number ptnued wa» about ICOO, ol which a litila over 1000 were sold at 10a to 12a.61 each, or a sluido over last vees's ratei. The market Ims of late been so fu-ly supplied that buyers are merely operating from lima to mouth, and heace (in the entire absence of speculative purchases), ■ m-iy bo assumed thatpiesont quotations represent the real value <f mutton—a fact which should not bo ovorlcokod by cither buyers or sellers of store stock. Fat Lambs were in good request, and of the 20J penned, nearly all fi.und buyers at 9s to 12s, being an advance on the ruing rites of lait week. Store Cattle.—The depression in the fat stock market has influenced adversely the demand for, and value of, >-tore cattle, and sales are difficult to efiect at 10a to 16s per head under late quotations. During the week wo have placed privately 150 head cows as £4 10s to £5 15s ; bullocks, at £6 to £8. Store fcheop are offering freely, and -enquiries are not infrequent. Withal, comparatively little business results. Quotations unchanged. Uuring tho week we have placed several Bmall lots. .... Country dale*.—•Jursile at Kuri Bush this day, on account of Mr James Anderson, brought together a large attendance of settlers in the district. Draught horses brought from £iS to £50 ; dairy cattle, £6 10s to £10 10s for cows, and £S lOi 10 £6ior younif cattle. Crops, implements, &c, fetched very satisfactory prices. : Wool.—Wo held our second sale of tha seison en Friday last, when a catalogue of 950 bales was submitted. Competition was .sntiive, and previous rates were well maintained, notwithstanding an impression that prevailed that 'ower prices would aa-ve to be accepted. Priced catalogue of wools sold, amounting to 515 bales and 100 ba^, has been published and circulated. Our third tale will be held to""sheopskhit Hides, and Tallew.-We have not held a salo thi3 we;k, an arrangement having been come to whereby, on and after 291h inst., these sales will be :held on Monday of each weok. Our sac will be held at 11 o'clock. ■ , Grain.—Who »t.: Little or nothing has yot been done in the new crop, and unless settlers modify their views ■ somewhat, it is not likely tlut many contracts for forward delivery will be entered into. During the week wo have sold 50 tons flour at.a satisfactory price. Oats are in easier request, and cannot be quoted at over 2-) to 2s 2d for feed aud milling respecti* ely. Barley ti still quiet, but we liave enquiries for prime samples of tho now crop ; quotations nominal. _____
