DUNEDIN BOWLING CLUB.

The Dunedin Bowling and Quoiting Club held its fourth annual meeting in Wain's Hotel last evening. Mr Hodgkina occupied the chair, and there was a numerous attendance. The minutes of the last meeting were confirmed, and the statement of accounts read by Mr Miller, treasurer, adopted. The latter showed the receipts for tee year to have been £88 17s 6d, and the expenditure £330 6s 9d, of which £210 was for an eight years' lease of the ground, and which amount it was intended to meet by the sale of debentures. The total liabilities of the Club were £241 9s Id. The Chairman congratulated the members of the Club upon the prosperous condition in which it stood. During the past year it appeared to have entered upon a new existence, there having been a large increase to its members, and, all things considered, it was in a highly satisfactory condition. About sixteen names had been added to the roll, and a number of the matches played were due to the liberality displayed by a few private subscribers in the Club. The enthusiasm generally evinced in the sport augured v/ell for the future prosperity of the Club. The acquisition of the ground on lease would be found very beneficial, whilst he considered the terms most advantageous to them. In all, thirteen matches were played, and in them much enthusiasm was displayed. Members had showed that their hearts were in the Club by their readiness to take debentures for the purchase of the ground. The election of officers was than proceeded with, with the following result : President, Mr C. S. Reeves ; Vice-President, Mr J. M'Neil; Treasurer, Mr G. Miller ; Secretary, Mr C. S. Harrey ; Committee : Messrs Calender, M'Dermid, Hodgkins, and Saunders. A vote of thanks to the retiring officers was proposed by Mr Evu, and carried unanimously. Six new members having been proposed, the meeting terminated.
