DUST AT THE WRONG TIME. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir—l am not naturally querulous with ray allotted portion in life's rough way, for I am one of those who want but little in this world, but want that little good—hence my jomplaint. It must be admitted as a fact by any who have a word to say, pro and con, that fully two- thirds of the Dunedin public are on the wing between S a.m. and 9 30 a in. Why those two-thirds should be subject to the sweepings of the other third is at least a mystery. I challenge anyone to repudiate my statement. Whilst on the way to business one is literally smothered with dust and dirt which every morning, barring Sunday morning (for then they know a trick worth two of that), is being propelled by manual labour, to the detriment of ocular demonstration, to say nothing of nasal organisation. I don't, for one momeui, wonder why our medicos cannot get out of She rough stream of money making, but as I (poor simple wtetch, for it must be a crime it; iufteiited poverty) am not in the grade of popularity by reason of my small means, I u.ust, by Nature, succumb to social ariatocr.iey, and merely raise my diminished head wh'sn down-trodden. Cannot you say a word on my behalf I —J. am, &c, An Aeistockatical Pauper.
