VOLUNTEER PARADE.

The monthly Battalion Parade was held last evening. There was a very strong muster. Tia following Companies were representud :—> Artilleiy: 39 rank and file, and 3 officers; Now 1 City Gu-rds : 40, 2 officers ; North Dune.din : 27, 3 officers ; South District Eifles: 17, 2 office.s ; City Guards Cadets: 28,1 officer? Nava! Brigade: 29, 2 officers; Drum and Fife Baud with City Guards, 20; Artillery Band, 23. Captain Stavely was in command, ana after marching from the Head Quarters Drill Shed, to the South Dunedin Oval, the follow, evolutions were gone through :— Form up a 6 Quarter Column distance in Head-quarters Drill shed—Tell off the Battalion.-March off in Fours from the Eight-Band Playing.— Form up on the Oval at Column Distance.— Left Wheel into Line—Quick March.—Opeo. Order—(The Battalion to be Inspected)—Glosa Order.—Line will Advance—Hall.—Line will retire—Halt—Front.—Break into Column to the Right.—Close to Quarter Column on the Leading Company.—Open to Column from tha Itear Company.-—Two Deep form Square.— Ke- form Column. —Four Deep form Square-— lie form Column.—Close to Quarter Column on, the centre Company.—Left and Eight Wheel* —Deploy to the Right,—Quarter Column on the itight Compai.y.—Deploy to the Left,—Quarter Column on the Left C:>rnpan}\-*~ Deploy outward*, one Cou| a y to the Right*. —March Home.
