Maclean Brothers report, for the week ending 22nd January, as follows: —

Fat Cattle.—At the yar.'s, on Wednesday, a fair supply of good cattle, viz., 125 head, came forward (ir, fact, we have seldom seen more useful cattle as to weight and quality at this season), for all of which there was good competition at about last week's rates. We sold a draft on account of Mr George Nichol. Bullocks, at from £10 10a to £14 ; cows, £10 t»> £10 10s. We quote prime quality 355, medium 30s to 32s 6d per 100 lbs. Fat Sheep.—A full supply of 1800 penned, twothirds of which were medium to good cross-breds, the balance merino ewes and wethers. Best cross-breds sold reidily at from 14s to 15s Gd ; medium, 10s to 13s; merino ewes, 7a; wethers, up to lOu Cd ;or equal to, for the former, 2Jd to 23d, and for the latter, fcjd per lb. At the yards wo sold 250 at above rates, and privately 1200 for delivery. Store Cattle—On account of the abundant supply of feed all over the country are much enquired for, but not to be had in large numbers at any price. We have no transactions to report. Store Sheep.—Youngsheep of all classes are in good demand, at fair prices, while but few are offering. Aged merinos are very plentiful, but as yet the demand for such is very limited. We quote 4 and 6tooth cross-breds, 8s 6d to 9s (id ; 2-tooth do, 7s to 8s ; merino wethers, 2, 4, and G-tooth, 5s 6d to Cs; fuilmouthed, 4s to 4s 6d ; do ewes, 2, 4, and 6-tooth, Cs to 7s ; full-mouthed, 3s to 4s.

Fat Lambs.—We have again to report a full market, about 400 having been penned. This, combined with the fact that the greater portion wore only medium quality, caused coniiiderablc dulness, and for all lots sold, a reduction in price had to be submitted to. Beat lambs brought from 9s to 103; medium and inferior, 6s to 89. Wool. - Our usual weekly sale on Friday last brought together a full attendance of buyers, and competition was more animated than at any previous sale this season, resulting in a slight improvement in the price 3 obtained, more especially for greasy parcels suitable for scouring. Washed wools, however, fail to command euch rates as were generally expected—a fact attributable, no doubt, to the heavy losses sustained on shipments of this description last season. We quote ordinary quality greasy merino at 9d to Hid; do cross-bred, at lOd to 12d; washed merino, 15d to lCd; do cross-bred, 16d to 17d. Few large clips have yet changed hands, but we have sales of several pending privately, which will doubtless result in business during the coming week. We shall offer to-morrow (Friday) about 500 bales. Annexed is priced catalogue of our sale on Hth inst.: — Washed pieces, AB, 1 bag, 61d ; greasy fleece, CWB, 1 do, 83d; do pieces, Sin diamond, 1 do, 6Jd ;do do, TL, 2 do, 5Jd ;do do. Sheepskins, at our last sale, were actively competed for, and realised full prices—say, for cross-breds, fullwoolled, 4s 8d to 8s lOd ; merinos, do, 5s to 5* Od ; station skins, from Is Cd to 4s, according to quality, and at per !b, 6§d to 7d Hides. —We submitted about 120 medium weights, which sold at 14s 9d to 19s 3d. Prices may be considered a shade firmer, owing to country hides coining forward less freely, as i 3 usual during the wool season.

Tallow.—2o casks inferior to medium were disposed of at our sale. Good quality, in shipping order, is wanted, and would command full prices. Grain.—Wheat has been in somewhat better request during the past week, but the price ruling for flour prevents any advance in value. We have sold 1000 sacks, at 4s 6d for good ordinary to 4s 8d for prime. Oats are in very weak demand, and saleable only in small parcels at 2s Id to 2s 3d, according to quality. Barley is practically out of the market.
