Ibesetwa samples of cement were examined by me for sulphate of lime, with the following results :— No. 4—Knight Bevarfs—contains 1.1 per cent, and 705—White Brothers—contains 1 per cent.-of that substance. I consider these results a great hnprovementon cements formerly examined in this laboratory. The portion of sulphate of lime in the above samples ie reduced to reasonable limits.
