The rumour circulated by the Age that Sir Julius Vogel has resigued his position and become one of Rothschild's financial agents has received semi-official contradiction in the Tribune and Times.

The accounts of the Colony are in a forward state of prepjraion for presentation to Parliament upon its opening: The following is an extract from a telegram from the Agent-General, dated London, 16th June, giving the names of the vessels snd the number of emigrants which have left for this ColoayinMay:—"Alumbagh aud Dover, 772, for Auckland; Halcione, 298, for Taranaki; Friedbourg, 289, for Napier; Rodney, 487, for Wellington; Blairgowrie, 441, for Lyttelton ; M'Ausland, 339, for Bluff. Mr Vesey Stewart's specials sailed on the 7th June.

A capital luncheon was given on board the Hawea to-day. About eighty gentlemen sat down, and the Superintendent was present. A great many more invitations had been issued.
