The Albury Banner, of November 21, "commends to the notice of all promoters of raffles, bazaars, art unions, and other devices for extracting money from the public for the furtherance of religious- or charitable purposes, a jtractice lately adopted in Ballarat— that of putting in marriage certificates as prizes. The fortunate winner of one of these becomes entitled to get the marriage ceremony performed free- of charge at any time within twelve months, of the date at which, he wina the prize."
