TheiSouth African Mail of October lGth gives the following:—"A diamond of 237 carats has been found at the diamond fields, and the Diamond News of the 6th says :— " Last week was remarkable for the number of large diamonds found of from 50 up to 100 carats and upwards. 2s Tono of these were white, however, and consequently not very valuable. We yesterday saw the largest diamond found on the dry diggings. It weighed 237 carats, and looks like two decanter stoppers rolled into one. It is, unfortunately, a little yellow; but it is free from flaw and of good shape. It. is a magnificent stone." In a litter edition the same paper says :—" The owner writes us to the effect that our description of the diamond was misconstrued to mean that it was a double stone. He says it is the most solid and undivided stone possible, and estimates its value at £2,000, and that they have called it the ' FaiW diamond,"
