CRICKET.

The weather was very favourable for cricket on Saturday afternoon, when a picked Eleven of the D.C.C. met Fifteen of their brethren on the Southern Recreation Ground. Amongst the visitors, as usual, the fair sex ■was well represented. Though we have had scarcely anything in the way of tall scoring to chronicle this season, regular practice is beginning to exercise its influence especially in the departments of bowling and fielding. The Fifteen v/ere evidently too strong tor the Eleven, having managed to score the

victory, with 5 wickets to fall and 31 runs to spare. Subjoined are the scores :—
