Two Shillings- and Sixponce to be paid on Application-; TwoShillingsand Sixpence on Allotment; and Five Shillings per Share on the Ist June, . 1575 ; Five Shillings on the Ist, August; and Five j Shillings on the Ist: October. ' EHE NEW ZEALAND DISTILLERY COMPANY having entered into an Agreement with the Government of New- Zealand :to • abandon the business of Distillation on-tlie SOtli'i June, 1875, are now prepared to offer to tlio public, their. Premises and Plant, for the purpose of establishing, a Brewery and carrying on their present large Malting Business (for which they are admirably adapted) on terms which it will be admitted, on consideration of the following particulars, ! are of the most-advantageous character, viz. :— The Freehold IProperty. comprises two full acres of land, in a blockUiaving frontages to Cumberland and Castle streets. The Buildings, builtof brick and stone, with slated roots, are of amostsulistantial character. : Plant (the greatenporfcion of which is suitable for a Brewery, and'Malting-Establishment) is complete and ; parfect in ©very respect-the only addition required ; for a Brewery being a Cellar, which can be erected for about £2000. With- tljis and some trifling alterations, i tlio Plant! will be a-jailable for Brewing purposes | within aiiwnitH or.sixvweeks from the date at which : the D stillery. Company, are required by law to cease : operations? ; Malt Floors and Kilns.—There are on the property : two Malfr.Floors andilQlns capable of turning out from ! 1000 to 1200 bushelsof malt per week ; and from the I advantageous position-of the work, having a fiontage ■to. the Bay>. aiid recoiving the benefit of the cool draughts of air whicJiiconthiually proceed therefrom, .Malting can be carried on all the year round 'which is an exceptional thimr, even "in the Old 1 Country. This Milt from this establishment has : always commanded itlic highest price of any produced iin New Zealand:; and the supply for some time back : has- been inadequate to the demand. The Beer pro- ; dueed from the-Mait is of the very best quality. The profits, from this.branch of the business may be expected to bo of ;aiivery substantial character, as during : the past year, even with the limited amount of Malt ;available for.sale, tiley exceeded £2500. And as there ; would.be a. largo-quantity to <lispose of in connection , with. a Brewery, tiie yearly profits would be propor- ; tionately increased; '; The capabilities, of the Premises and Plant for the purpose of i a Braweuy have been carefully examined | and estimated by-a. competent authority (a gentleman . who built- some of. the largest Breweries in the neighbourhood of Edinburgh), who states that from 400 to : 500 lvogsheuds-of Beer could be made per week when :the traderequired) it, which is greatly in excess of the • .quantity which can be turned out by any other. Brewery in. New Zealand. This capability "to produce so much, more Beer at very little extra costoS■management, must always give the Albion Brewery\ Company. a> great advantage over the other Brewing' Establishments, and as the trade is increasing greatly ■ here, and being, opened up with the neiKhbouriag Colony of' New South Wales and Fiii, no doubt f2ie" full power, of. fche Company's Works would very shortly bo called into operation. : Water Supply.—The Distillery Company, at oonsidoyaUle expense, constructed a covered Brickand Cement Reservoir on Mr Logan's property, next the ! Town- Belt, and laid pipes to the Distillery, thus ob- ; taming: a private supply of the best water in tbe district, free from, every impurity, for the purcjese of : steeping Maltr, Distilling, or Brewing. Cottages.—Oa the property are three (3) substantial • iour-roomed Cottages, for the use of the Principal Employes of.- ihe Company, who require to veside oni tile promises^ I Value of Land, &c.—The Land, Buildings, and Plant ■• of the DistSlery Company were valued by Messrs > Blair, and 34'Gregor, in Murch last, for a local public i company, at £27,450. Since then laud in the neigh-. , bourhood'has been sold considerably in exesss of their I estimate j and there can be no doubt tha-i in a very i few years the property will double its present value, : contiguoiis as it is to the Railway Terminus, Jetties, : and other important lines of traffic. A short siding, i of about thirty yards in length, will enaWe the Com- . pany to place their goods on the railway cars, thus .saving a large yearly expenditure in carriage. ;■ Pi-ice of Property.—The present proprietors require, - for the Lands, Buildings, and Plant complete (inelud-. ing tho private water supply) the sum* of £30,000, outcf which they will pay all the preliminary expenses of floating the Company; and so confident are they of the success of the business, that thay are willing to take paid-up shares to the value af £15,000 as part payment of the purchase money, and will further guarantee 8 per cent, on the paid-up capital for two., years from the commencement of. the business, and will give good and sufficient security for the due pay T ment of this guaranteed interest—such securityto.be. lodged in the hands of any Trustses the Directors .may, appoint. They feel perfectly sscure in undertaking this prospective liability, from ttie fact that the profit on the malt alone should pa}' aver 10 per cent, on tke, paid-up capital. As to the projfts sf breweries all iovep, the world, it is not necessary iiere to dilate. They.ase, known to he large, and to compare favourably wjfclj. any other business that can be named. Capital.—When the shares, are all disposed of, there will, after purchasing the property, be ample fumle to. make the alterations before alluded to, and to earyy on the business, as the sale- and returns from becß are almost immediate. Staff.—There is at presznt in the cmployrpftnt-of the Distillery Company a complete staff of competent experts,, whose services are at the disposal of the Brewing and Malting Company. The present si&najreK (than whom a more competent man is not to. i>e found in these Colonies) is '.veiling to undertake the manage-^ ment of the new concern; and the Company^ experienced traveller (whose qualifications are well! known) is also open to engagement. . . . Quality of Beer.—lt will be the determination ot the Albion Brewing Company to send out'nothing but the best quality of 5 beer, and thus secure a lasting; and constantly increasing demand for their brgjidi The sole reason, the present favourable opportunity is offered to the public for in vesting their, capital to such advantage fe that the present propyietors of the property desit^. to retire for a time f?«m the : active management af; business. They are tSoroughlv confident that, binder proper management, no business in the Colonjf will yield a better retsm, than that &f the Albion Brewing and Malting Coisjjany (Limited), when once- i itirly established. Insuransa. has been effected on 4ho buildings and plant to the extent of £20,000. This prospectus is thus early laid Gflfpr« the piibKc, to euable.tbenew Compiny to get Miqir cellar erected, make the necessary alterations, arrange barley contracts, manufacture malt, and hav.e everything ia readiness, to commence operations as soon after obtaining posssssioa of the premises as possible. The Distillery Company hope to have mamjSactur,e'l the isaximum quantiitiy of spirits allowed in thpir contract with the Goxerumont about the end oi April, hi which case they will atoncehand over tfee property to. the Albion Company, and so enable thoan, to, commence, operations before the date above-named,.
