A monument is proposed to be erected tc the memory of Livingstone at Edinburgh. An English Bill bearing the names of Ms Anderson, Sir W. Stirling Maxwell, Mj Stevenson, and Mr M'Lagan, proposes tc amend the Betting Act, by making itapena; offence to issue circulars or letters, or tc t publish advertisements inviting persons tc make bets. The Bill also proposes to extend the principal Act, as amended, to Scotland, with certain modifications.
