' IIivKKTOK, March 24th. Xwo sealing boats, which were missing, havo arrived with 327' skins, and short of provisions. They went north to Bruce Bay fei .P otatoes» returning to Milford Sound. While col-fishing at night in tho inland lakes they uaw a fire. They visited the spot, and discovered foot-tracks of three or four persons, who are supposed to bo a remnant of a tribe of wild M aoris—probably those seen by Captain Ho well several years ago. The chief Horomona Pautu, resident hero, would search for them, if assisted.

■_■ . . Xahkby, March 24th. The election of Town Councillors took place to-day, with the following result: Kasfc Ward, M. Brooks and L.W. Busch : bouth Ward, Hugh Wilson and James Hore; West Ward, C. A. Do Lotour, and Jamea Brown. , In tho South Ward, James btewart polled even with the others; but the returning officer gave his vote in favour of tho latter. The proceedings were very quiet. ■?■
