Yestordny, the United States mail steamer Kebnisk.'i fired a salute, at noon, in honour of the re-election of General Grant an President of the United States. The Nebraska was dressed out with bunting, and the British ship Petf.r JJenny was likewise dressed out. The other vessels in Port showed no extra Hags. Aftcrthe Nebraska's salute, the Union Jack was hoisted on the Government flagstaff and the American ensign on the Harbour Ofiice staff. Simultaneously with this a salute of 10 gun« was fired by the Naval Brigade, under the command of Captain Jtobertson, an a compliment to our American cousins, in their congratulations. The schooner Dagmar, from Catlin's River, and a small fore-and-after, arrived yesterday afternoon.
The ship Ironside, for Bluff Harbour,, whither blio luih gone to load wool, meats, &c, was towed to sea yesterday afternoon by the tug (Jcelong, and left with a good ofling and a fresh fair wind.
The p.H. Samson sailed for Oamaru in the forenoon, and the h.s. Stormbird for the Bluff in the evening.
