THE VOLUNTEERS.
A rifle match between ten men of the Anderson's Bay Division of the Pnnodin Naval Company, and an equal number of the North Duncdin Riilos, took place yesterday morning at the Anderson's Bay range. The conditions were : Banges^ 000, 500, and 000 yards ; live shots at each range ; Wimbledon targets ; Uythe po»ition at 300, any nt other ranges. A strong worLh»ea»t gale blowing made good shooting very difficult. At the 300 yards ranye tl'.e marksmun had to firo wliile the rifle vr is swinging across the target, it being inipopssibic to hold on long enough to take an jiiiu. The highest individual score was made by Gunner Geoi*go lirown, of the Naval Corps, who made the excellent score of 45 points, his shooting at 000 yards being remarkably good.
