■Wellington", July 4th. At a meeting of rrerchants and importers, it was resolved to form a Freight Company. The Governor, and Messrs M'Lean and Ormond, arrived in the Luna to-day. Auckland, July 3rd. A panic has taken place in Green Harp shares, which are down to £1 15s. The cause is unknown. Other shares are dull, but prices are maintained. [This telegram was accidentally omitted from our last issue.] July 4th. Barry and Nolan officially report that they found both alluvial gold and quartz at Lake Taupo, and washed some, but gave it to the Maoris aa agreed upon. The heavy snow put a stop to prospecting. They were unable to travel to the Napier side of the Lake, because the Maoris refused to give them permission to do so in the absence of their chief at a meeting at Nanier. The natives everywhere evinced the" greatest dislike and distrust of the Napier Government, and the chiefs will only allow prospecting when convinced from Auckland of the bona fides of the affair. On the return of spring the prospectors are hopeful of finding an alluvial goldfield. Tho Green Harp panic continues. It

Excitement has been caused by the last small-pox case, and every one is getting vaccinated. The case is a mild one. It is ascertained that Thompson, the man who died in hospital from small-pox, worked as a butcher on board the Nebraska on her last voyage to the South-
Chbiotchu&oh, July 4th. The criminal session of the Supreme Court is over. In tho case of William Antill,'charged with bigamy, the jury, by direction of the Judge, returned a verdict of "Not guilty." It is proposed to petition the Resident Minister to form a road between the 32nd mile poet on the West Coast road, and Ah aura, so as to join the road to the Reefton diggings.
