The schooner Emulous, f rom Kakanui, in ballast, arrived in harbour at 4 a.m. yeater-; day. At Kakanui she discharged a full cargo of coal from Newcastle. - The s.B. Airedale arrived at 5 a.m. from the Bluff, -where she left at 4 p.m. on the 30th, and experienced fine weather, with a light N.E. wind, throughout the passage. She leaves for Auckland and intermediate provinces ihis afternoon, with the outward San Francisco mails, for transhipment to the ocean steamer Wonga Wonga. The s.s. Stormbird started on her maiden trip under the Government subsidy for Southern Ports last evening. : The s.s. Maori sailed last night for Lyttelton and intermediate portal By a private telegram received yesterday from Napier we learn that the cutter Lap. wing left Levuka (Fiji) on the 2nd January ■arid has put in at Napier for provisions. ■ Advices have been received from Hong Kong that the charter of the North German barque Matador, which had beea taken up to convey a cargo of teas from Foo-chow-Foo to this port for Messrs Cargills and M'Lean, had been abandoned, and the cargo transhipped to a neutral vessel, which is now on the way hither.
