Sir—May I ask through your columns by whose orders the Royal Standard waß hoisted half-mast high on the occasion of Dr Burns's funeral? : I may remind'those by -whose authority it waa done that it ia an honour paid only to the Sovereign, and would even be denied to tjie Prince of Wales in the tveut of his death. —lanij&O., .„.
