Nelson, April 19th. At the races to-day there was but a small attendance, notwithstanding the fine weather. The following are the results of the several events :— Maiden Plate, If mile.—Mr Stafford's Mist, 1; Mr Redwood's Songstress, 2. Four ran. Time, 2min. 28sec. f urf Club Handicap, If mile.—Mr Redwood's Peeress, 1; Mr Stafford's Magenta, 2 ; Mr Stafford's Lacenfeed, 3. Four ran. Time, 3min. 20sec. The Waimea Plate and the Hack Race were both won by Mr Page's Rainbow. Ladies' Purse, If mile, in heats.—Mr Redwood's Misfortune thoroughly beat Mr Stafford's Rapid Rhone. Only two ranj' and the race was a poor one. Criterion Plate, -f mile.—Mr Redwood's Peeress, 1; Mr Stafford's Lacenfeed, 2 ; Mr Redwood's Songstress, 3. Four ran. The racing generally waa poor.
