Auriferous quartz has been found at llangiorL !" Auckland advices state that a new Maori King has been set up. Hakaria, tho prophet, and his party, oppose thepeacefully inclined King Tawhio. It is expected tho two parties will light They are at present quiet, but hostilities may break out any moment. A band of 14 Europeans lmve gone to Opotiki from Auckland, to intercept the Maori spies passing between the hostile and friendly Natives. Tho expedition is condemned by the Hontiiern Cross. The Phoebe could not call at T.aranaki.
