The districts in which these Lands are situato have only recently been acquired from the Native j proprietors, and no land has been sold in them. Ist. The towns-hip of , consisting of about 600 town sections. This township will be sold by public auction, and oilers unusual advantages for investment. It is situate on the Wairoa, a liver navigable for many milts from ita mouth, with a back country, containing' large blocks of rich agricultural land, i and also an extensive pastoral district. The Provincial Government have about two hundred thousand acres in this district to open up for settlement; the whole of this country is st present unoccupied and will be offered to public . competition. This district will be laid out in lots of from ten to sixty acres, and is nearly a'l rich agricultural land, a great deal of it abutting on the Wairoa River. It will be disposed of by public auction. 3rd. Agricultural land, adjoining the suburban land at the Wairoa, and Mahia, and in different parts of the Wairoa and adjacent districts. There is a large extent of really fine agricultural land to be brought into the market from time to time, as demand for it occurs. This land will be surveyed and laid out in sections suitable for the occupation of agricultural settlers, and will be sold to the first applicant at one pound per acre. Land for commonage will be reserved adjacent to .each block of agricultural land, for fourteen years, equal in extent to the quantity of land sold or offered for sale. 4th. Pastoral land, about (120,000) one hundrel and twenty thousand acres of lnnd suitable for sheep runs, titnate in Wairoa and adjacent districts, will be divided into blocks not exceeding in any case ten thousand ncreF, and be leased by public auction for fourteen years to the highest bidder. The sanction of the Legislature has to be obtained before these runs can be disposed of. 6th. Above six thousand acres of the Akuriri Plains, well known to be the richest agricultural land in the Colony, and immediately adjoining the township of Napier. These blocks are held in lease rom the natives for periods of twenty-one and twenty-two years, and will be leased by publio auction, in lota rait* able for the settlement of an agricultural popnlalation for like periods. A future notice vill be issued, giving the day on which these valuable lands will be thrown open to the public, and particular? as to upset price, size of lots, &c, will be published.
