A deposit of guano has been discovered in Francis in a huge 'cavern not far from Vesoul, on the property of M. de Beaufond. Birds are not in this instance the depositors of the fertilising treasure, which, ia exclusively made up of the dropping from bats (phauve souris), the mass of manure measuring 800 cubic metres.
