The total amount of revenue received at the Customs to-day on goods passed for home conaumption was L 509 Us Id, the items being:—Brandy, 135 gala, LBl ; whisky, 37 gals, L 22 4s ; geneva, 33 gals, L2O 5s ; wine 100 gals, L2l ; beur in bulk, 600 gals, L 22 10s ; tobacco, 283 lbs, L 35 8s 3d ; cigars, 153 lbs, L 35 13s 3d ; tea, C3GO lbs, Llsl 10s ; sugar, 10,846 lbs, L 45 3s lOd ; drapery, L 43 14s 6d ; sundries, L3l Is 9d.
Business, though, moderately good, has not opened with so,, mucli animation as might have been expected. Considerable enquiry has taken place for miscellaneous merchandise for shipment, and numerous small parcels of goods have been quitted, but we hear of no heavy operations. The flour market stands firm as last quoted. No auction sales possessing any interest have taken placo. THIS DAY,
