TO THK ELECTORS OF THE COUNTY OF BRUCE. f^i ENTLEMEN— In compliance with the | vJT wishes of a large number of the Constituency, I have deemed it my duty to come forward os a candidate for the seat in the Parliament of XVew Zealand, vacated by tbe resignation of Mr E. B. Cnrgill. Not having seen my way to comply with the wishes of my friends until tbe last moment, I am enable to visit the various districts throughout the country prior to the polling day (Wednesday next, 26th inst.), I trust, however, ihat I shall not be considered guilty of disrespect in consequence, and that my political principles are sufficiently well known to enable me to dispense with a personal canvas, nnder the circunißtaneea, I take this occasion of thanking my friends on the Taieri, Waihola, and Tokomairiro, for the very flittering- reception they have been pleased to accord to me on my wav to the nomination, and to assure the electors throughout the country, that if placed at the head of the poll, it will be my earnest endeavor to prove myself worthy of their choice.
