Wo regret to say that a sad accident occurred on Sfttnrd.-iy afternoon last, to a workman named Mr Robert Smith, employed at the Ball Hill excavations. He was working on a ledga of rock, when the earth above him gave way, and falling upon him broke Ms leg, and in - fhcted severe, injuries upon, his back and arms, Beth his hands were were also very seriously cot and braiaied. The unfortunate man was at once carried by Ms fellow workmen, oa a hand-barrow; to tho Hospital, when he received the attention his case demanded.
