DEIVER MACLEAN AND CO. beg respectfully to inform the WOOLG-ROWEKo, MERCHANTS, &O of this and the neighbouring Provinces, that on removing to their new and commodious premises in HIGH STREET, have made arrangements for holding during the season a series of AUCTION SALES OP WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES, AND TALLOW. It Is a well-known fact that in all the Woolproducing Colonies of -ireat Britain the system of disposing of this staple by public com petition has become universal, and haß proved emiue»tly advantageous, alike to the buyer and the seller. Nothing can be more desirable than that the wool-growers ot the extensive district of which Dunedin is the centre, i-liould be placed in a position to avail themselves of a mode of sale which has been found so ustful elsewhere. It is with tlie view of meeting a want so generally felt that the undersigned have been induced to devote a large portiun of the premises above r3 - ferred to to the purposes of a WO L aU TION MART. It is their intention to conduct this branch of their business in the same manner as it has for years been carried on r.y their friends and agents MeSBTS ii GoTJLDSBOKOUfcIH li Co., Of Melbourne, and by ther eminent finis ia the neighboring colonies of Australia. They have, also, to ensure its efficient management, engaged the services of Mr W. L. Lees, a praeti al and experienced Woolsorter, who has been several years employed in the same line by Messrs GoUsbrough and Co. From the arrangements thus completed, the grower, on consigning his Wool to the undersigned, wi'l secure the double advantage of having it placed on view and offered for sale in this market; and in the case of its not being disposed of to meet Mb views as to its value, of having it shipped under efficient superintendence, either to Melbourne or (ireat Britain, or to Great Britain ' vid Melbourne. A further find most important advantage will he fuu'id in the opportunity now r «M"<ted, for having Wools properly Ported and Ci..<**iyiJ3D the spot; as it has been found by experience that Wools irregularly packed never realise their fu;l varie. On consigning Wools t-j ihe undersigned, constituents will please to furnish full particulars of their classification, specially distinguishing fleece Wools from LAMBS, LOOKS, PIEOES, Or BROKEN and mixed. This precaution is required by the necessity of selling these different classes of Wool separately. Wools sent to thfi undersigned for shipment to Great Britain will, if not specially consigned, be forwarded to their agents —the well known firm of MILR3 BROS, and CO., Of London and Liverpool, In whose hands the interests of the consignor will be secure of careful attention.
