Behini> the Age.—Durine the present week a women named Barlow, between seventy and eighty yeaw of age, left Bury to go to America, where she expected to see her aunt, who is ninety-eight years of age. Mrs Barlow had never previously ridden in a railway carriage, nor halt she aver seen a ship or the sea. When approaching Liverpool she stood np in the carriage, and appeared to be much interested with the masts of the ships. At the present time there is a man living at Moss Jane, Unsworth, named James Fletcher, but known by the cognomen of " Jim o' Jacobs, the knife trucker." He is eighty-nine vear3 of age, and was never in a railway carriage nor an omnibus, nor didhe ever see a ship or the sea, and he never carried an umbrella in his life.
