Mess's Miles and Co. report an increasing demand fer stock.

Fat Cattle—The market is only scantily supplied. The high prices lately ruling; in Dunedin. coupled with the prospect of a very *hort supply for the Ciuistchurch market during th« winter months, have caused an advance in price. We now quote fut stock, fiffor the butcher, at s£d to 6d per lb. Wethers.—There is litile doing in store wethers. We have sold 2.000, from two-tooth to iuli-inouthed, deliverable on the Hurunui, at 21s per hen I.

Fat Wethers. Butchers well supplied for present use. We quote 20s to 28* pur head, and anticipate a good demand during the winter months, when stocks become liahter.

Ewes.—We have sold 2,000 ewes, deliverable witliin 25 mile 3of Chdstehurch, 'nixed aaes, from 2-toot!i to full-mouthed, at 31s per head ; 3i}o, from 2-tooth upwards, at 32s Cd ; also 600 ewe*, n mixed flock, at 30s; and 500. deliverable in the luck country, at the some price, 303. The demand for ewes is very gveait.: we have buyers for large quantities at 31s per hea-i, good quality sheep; and we have every reason to balieve that prices will keep up for some time. We now quote from 31s to 32s GJ per head for g-ood sh?ep, deliverable within a few days' drive from buyers' stations.
