Dunhdin and Suburbs North comprises all lands in the Province.of (..'tago bounded on tho south by a right Hue prolonged from tba Harbor of Dunedin through the centre of Stuart stree and centre of the Octagon, Dunedin, until the said line intersects the western boundary aftermentioned ; on tbe east by the OeeaTi ; on the north-west and west by n right line from the north-western head of I'liraknuui Harbor to tlie Trkoiiometrical Station on Flagstaff Hill: theuce by aright line towards the mouth ofthe Kaikorai River, until it intersects tlie above-mentioned right line from the Harbor of Dunedin through Stuart-street 2. Dunedin and Sun debs South comprises all laud in the Province of Otago bounded on the east by tbe Ocean; ou the north by a right line prolonged from the Harbor of Dunedin through the—centre of Stuart-etreet and centre of the Octagon, Dunedin, until tho said line intersects the western boundary after-mentioned; on the south by the Ocean ; on the south-west and wsst by a right line from the mouth of the Kaikorai River towards the Trigonometrical Station or Flagstaff Hill till it intersects the said north boundary. 3. Bruce is bounded on the north by the Hampdea District, from the mouth ofthe Waikouaiti Rive to the confluence ofthe Minzionburn and 'Jlutha River; thence by a line to the summit of Mount Spylaw; thence down the Spylaw Burn to its . confluence with tlie Pomahaka River; thence oa the west by tbe Pomahaka River to the continence of tbe Waipahi Creek; thence by the Waipahi Creek to the confluence of the Kan-era Creek; thence by a line to the Otaria Peak; thence on the south-west by a line to Cattiin's Cot-e; thence by Cat'lin's River to the sea; and thence by the sea to Waikouaiti River—excepting the Distrirts (>f Dunedin and Suburbs North, and Dunediii aud Suburbs South. 4. Hampden is bounded on the north and north-east by the Heathcote End Timaru Districts; on tho north-west by the sea; on the south-west and south by a line from the head of Milford Haven to the Waikatipu Lake ; theuce by that Lake to the Kawaurau River; thence by" that River to Ciutha River ; thence by the Clutha River to the confluence of the Minzioiiburn; thence by the • Minzionburn to Lammerlaw Peak: thence by a line to the nearest source of the Deep Stream; thence down the Deep Stream to its confluence with the Taieri lliver ; thence by a line due east across the Silver Peak Hills to Cherry Farm Creek ■ thence down that Creek to its confluence with the Waikouaiti Hiver; and down the Waikcuaiti River to tbe sea ; and on the east by the sea. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROVINCIAL DISTRICTS WITHIN REFERRED TO. 1. Dunedin District comprises all that area withiii the City and Belt, as shown in ihe Record Alaps. 2. Port Chalmers District comprises all that area within the Town and Belt, as shown in the Record Maps. 3. Oamaru Town District compiles all that area within the town boundary, as shown in the Record Maps. 4. North Harbor District comprises all that area, bounded on the north by tbe Ocean; ou the east by the Oiago Harbor ami PortChalmers District; on the south by the Town of. Dunedin ; and on the west by the Water of Leith to its source; thence to the Waitati Stream from it source to the Ocean. 5. Peninsula District comprises all that ar bounded on the north by Otrtgo Harbor ; on tho east by the Ocean ; on the south by the Ocean: and on the west by Block VII Town District, and that road-line running direct from Hillside to the Ocean Beach. 6. Waikari District comprises all that area bounded on the north by the northern boundary of Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri District; on the east by the Water of Leith and Town of Dunedin ; on the south by that road-line running from Maclaggan-street to Look-out Point; thence by a direct line through Trig Stations V and D to that road-line running along tlie Kaikora Ranges; on the west by that road-^ine towards Stoney Knowe, ancl the western boundary o Block V Dunedin and East TaieriDistrict. 7 Green Island and Caver3iiam District comprises all that area bounded on the north by Waikari, Duuedin, Otago Harbor and Peninsula - District; on the east and south by the Ocean; and on the west by the Kaikorai and Abbott's Creeks, and by the western boundary of Block VI, Dunedin aud Fast Taieri District, and that road leading along the Kaikori Ranges. 8. Taieri District comprises all that area bounded on the north by Sutton's Stream, the Taieri River, the Allan Creek; thence by the Water Shed ofthe Silver Peak Hills to Swampy Hill; on the east by Waikari, Caversham, and Green Island Districts, and the Ocean ; on the south by the Taieri, Waipori Lake and River to its source; and on the weft by the Water Shed of the, Lammerlaw Ranges. 9. Waihola Distriot comprises all that area bounded on the north by Taieri District; on the east by the Ocean, by Akatore Stream, and the southern boundaries of Blocks 111 V, VI, Clarendon District, Blocks I and 11, Waihola Lake District; and on the west by the western boundary of Block I, Waihola Lake District, and Blocks. 10. Tokomairiro District comprises all that area bounded on the north by Fruidburn, Taieri, and Waihola Districts; on the east by the Ocean ; %fl the south by the Wangaloa Creek to Trig. Sw?' tion I, thence by Fraser and Lovell's Creeks U» Mount Stuart, thence by Dull Burn and the Waitahuna ; and on the west by the Clutha River. 11. Matau Distriot, including Kaitanqata amd iNcn Clutha comprises all that area bounded on the north by T komairiro District: on the east by the Ocean : and on the soath and west by the Clutha River, and its southern arm. 12. Clutha District comprises all that area bounded on the north by the Waikaka and Pukerau Streams, thence by a swamp and the Waipahee; thence by the water shed of the Tapanui Ranges to the Fruidburn Junction, thence by Tokomairiro and Matau districts, on the east and and south by the Ocean; and on.the west by the Mataura 13. Lindis District comprises all that area bounded on the north by the Province of Canterbury; on the east by the Kurow River and Mountains; on the south by the Hawkdun and St. Bathan's Mountains, the Cluden, Lindis, Clutha, and Tinwald ; thence by the watershed of Mounts Pisa and Earnslaw; and on the west thence by the Snowy Ranges to Canterbury Province. 14. Manuherikia Distriot comprises all that arcs bounded on the north by the Lindis District; oa the east r by- the Kyeburn, Rock and Pillar . Mountains, and the Lammerlaw Ranges ; on the south by Tokomairiro District; and on the west by the Clutha; thence to Mount Benger. and by the Obelisk and Carrick Ranges and Double Rock to Mount Pisa. 15. Wakatip District comprises all that are bounded on the north by the Province of Canterbury ;on the cast by the Lindis, Mai uierikia and Clutha Districts; on the south by the Province of Southland and the Ocean; and on the . -west by the Ocean. 16. Oamaru Country DistrSt comprises all that area bounded on the north, by the Waitaki; oa the cast by the Ocean and Oamaru Town District; on ;the south by the Horse Ranges and Kakanui Mountains; and on the west by th Manuherikia and Lindis-Districts. - ty 17.
