(FROM OCR OWS CORRESPOXDEXT.) 15th-August, 1862. The mercantile world of Wellington has hardly subside] into its n3iial quietude, 'which had ben recently disturbed by the English arrivals within a shot-period of each other. The stock of winter goods, which it was-" supposed would prove greatly in excess ofthe demand, is fast being absorbed : and" the arrival of the.Princess Ls looked for with impatience." Prices of woollens have been wf-11 sustained. A sdc of English made furniture was hell on Tuesday, at the Jlhcdjs ritorc, and the prices realised would deive a.small margin to'the importer, though the demand fur that description of goods has been much stimulated by the necessity of ■ accommodating Iso large an ..inflnx of'visitors as the meeting of the General Assembly at Wellington .has-brought to our city. The same reason may be assigned for the better demand for books exhibited at 'Bethune and Hunter's three days'sale, now going on.. In imported goods there is no important variations to register.
