Government Notices. j AKATOIIE, BLOCK 111. ■^VT OTICE is hereby given that Block 3, Akatore, JjV having been surveyed, will'be open for application on Tuesday, the 17th June' next,, at the Land Offico, Dmip.ilin, and in the event of more than one application beiiuj made for" same section will be decided by auction at the T -and Office, Dunedin, on the second day of July next, at 12 o'clock, at which time the whole of the hi-j chase money will be payable. Block 3, Akatiire, is situate on the sea coast, between tiie T.-uVri and 'lokoiuariro Rivers, is bounded on the North by the Akatore Hiver (accessible to boats) on I lie South by Block 4, on the East by the ocean, and on Iho West by unsurveyed land. The block comprises '1410 acres of land including M,Gretror's bush. It contains a considerable quantity of fair .•ucricultural land, is in close proximity to the Akatore Bush containing several thousand acres of good timber, of which a sullicient Government Reserve will he made, and licenses to cut and saw may be obtained on tho usual terms. SSTlie Sections contain from 23 to 119 acres, but are mostly between 70 ,-md 80 acres each. Maps may be seen at the Land Office, Dunedin, and at the Commissioner's Camp on the Gold Fields, where forms of application may bo obtained. Lithographed copies of the maps are to be had from Mr. A. 11. Livingston, Bookseller, Dunedin, at Is. each. " And be it enacted, That every person who, by words or any other means whatsoever, shall persuade any person in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or improperly absent himself from his duty, shall forfeit and pay tho sum of twenty pounds for every such act; and every person who shall assist or procure any person in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or improperly absent himself from his duty ; or shall conceal, employ, or continue to employ any person belonging to Her Majesty's Navy, who shall be a, deserter, or improperly absent from his duty, knowing him to be gucjt \i iliptfrtor, or so improperly absent, shall forfeit find pay t Jic sum of thirty pounds for every such assistance, procurement, concealment, employment, or continuing of employment, as aforesaid."
