KUROW HARE DRIVE.

; (.From our; own iCorrpsportdent.) Some six guns from Oainaru and three of our local sports made a- trip up the Hakataramea. Valley yesterday; for a day's hare shooting, the.first .of the season's drives. The morning brokewith the ground as though there liaa been a light fall of snow, so hard was; the frost, but the day was perfect, al-; though too''calm from a shooter's point; of view. Had there beW a breeze setter results would have been obtamea. The drive was made ori Mr Gillies' late property, Belli eld, which has lately been disposed of to Mr W. Macaulay, of Maheno, and after about four hours' of good sport a halt was called for refreshments. Mr J. J:. Spiers, of Ku-' row Hotel, had attended to his part of the day's outing by providing, a firstclass.basket of eatables, to which due justice was done, all having discovered an abnormal appetite. After the wants of the inner man had been supplied the barrage was renewed with; vigor, and when cease fire was ordered about 4.30 a count for the outing was made. The tally realised 153 for the day for eight guns. Many thanks were expressed for Mr Macaulay's permission to go over his property, resulting in such a good day s sport.
