INFLUX OF ASIATICS.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 2. The continued influx of Asiatics has led the Auckland waterside workers to a decision not to work after a certain date the vessels carrying such people. This decision has been conveyed to the Advisory Board of the Transport ers' Federation for its consideration. A leading officer of the Waterside WorkUnion, this morning stated that the position was reaching what ho considered to be an acute stage.* The decision was carried as a protest against the continuous stream of Chinese and Hindus pouring into the Dominion. "The; Chinaman," he added, "is fast ousting the white man in the retail and the Hindus have gained such"a footing that they are now a.ble to-,do good business bv hawking: butter for- gale from door to door."
